Player Participation

Player Participation Rule

The player participation rule is as follows: Every player must play a whole quarter (from buzzer to buzzer) in a half and make an appearance in the other half.

Examples of noncompliance of the participation rule:

Player A plays all of the first quarter (buzzer to buzzer) then makes an appearance in the second quarter but doesn't play at all in the second half.

Player A plays all but one minute of the first quarter then plays all but 30 seconds of the third quarter.

Remember, every player must play a whole quarter (buzzer to buzzer) in the first or second half and make an appearance in the other half.

Failure to comply with this rule will result in forfeiture of that game and suspension of coaching for the next game.

If a player arrives late for a game while the game is still in the first quarter, the coach does not have to play the late player in the first half; however, the coach must play the late player a full quarter in the third or fourth quarter.

If a player arrives after the start of the second quarter, the coach does not have to play the late player in the first half.  However, the player must make an appearance in the second half of the game.

Any team found to have used an ineligible player and/or coach in any game will forfeit the game.

TEAM SELECTION & PLAYER DRAFT (Tuesday, October 30, 2007 I & C Division ) (Thursday, November 1, 2007 A & B Division)
No player will play, or be drafted until all registration fees, including late fees, are paid or the board has approved a hardship waiver.

No player may be retained (frozen) by a coach without written parental consent.

No player may be registered until  a copy of the player's birth certificate has been furnished to the Board of Directors.

Prior to the official draft, teams will be allowed four (4)-frozen players.  Frozen players will be identified as such on the player's contract prior to the draft.  If a frozen player quits prior to the start of the season, the coach may have a replacement player of their choice.

Teams that provide the league with a sponsor's fee will be allowed to add 1 additional frozen player.  Failure to pay the sponsor fee by the required date (draft date) will result in a frozen player being removed and placed in the draft for that division.  The coach will choose which frozen player will be removed and placed in the draft.
Coaches will draw numbers to determine their position for player assignment in the draft.

The official draft will not start until all coaches have 4 players: these players will be assigned from the draft cards.  Coaches with no players will be assigned players first.

Coaches with a sponsor fee player will sit out one round of the draft after they have reached 7 players. (8th player is the sponsor player)

Player draft card will be arranged by age.

The Board of Directors will place individuals who fail to register by the announced cutoff date on a waiting list.
Request by parents to place players on the same team because of rides or other reasons deemed valid by the board will be granted if possible; however this determination will be made at the discretion of the Board of Directors in the best interest of the league.  No player will be exempted from the established draft rotation because that player needs a ride to practice and/or games with a player already selected to a team.

$100.00 Sponsor fee for the 5th frozen player
(1 additional frozen player)
